Chinedum Peace Babalola

Chinedum Peace Babalola, is the immediate past Vice-Chancellor of Chrisland University Abeokuta, a Pharmacist, Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry/Pharmacokinetics, and a past Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Ibadan.
She obtained a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.), MSc, and PhD degrees from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, completed her post-doctoral fellowship at University of British Columbia, Canada.
For over 35 years, Babalola has focused on pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics, pharmacogenetics, clinical trials as tools to study the disposition of several therapies in Nigerians, as a guide to optimizing therapy in Blacks.
She has enjoyed many grants including a MacArthur grant ($1m) to set up the Centre for Drug Discovery, Development and Production (CDDDP) in University of Ibadan. She is currently a focal person for the ongoing USAID sponsored USP-PQM+ program on Promoting Quality of Medicines in LIMC.
Chinedum is the first female pharmacist inducted Fellow Academy of Sciences (FAS); and one of first female Nigerians inducted Fellow African Academy of Sciences (FAAS).
She is a recipient of several awards and prizes including the prestigious African Union Kwame Nkrumah Regional Prize for Scientific Excellence in 2019.
Babalola has over 100 peer-reviewed publications in reputable outlets. She has supervised and mentored over 50 postgraduate students.
