Dear Participants,

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to join us for the upcoming workshop on “Africa’s Journey in Pharmacogenomics and DMPK: Exploring Progress & Potential.” This workshop, to be held from the 5 -7 March 2025, will serve as a pivotal gathering for researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders interested in the transformative intersection of pharmacogenomics and drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK) in Africa.

Pharmacogenomics, the study of how genetic variations influence drug response, holds immense promise for personalized medicine. In the context of Africa, with its rich genetic diversity, there are unique opportunities, as well as challenges in the conduct of pharmacogenomics research. This workshop aims to explore the current advancements in the field, discuss challenges faced, and chart a path forward towards harnessing the full potential of pharmacogenomics and DMPK in improving healthcare outcomes across the continent.

Key themes of the workshop include:

Pharmacogenomics/Pharmacogenetics
Drug Interactions
Personalized medicine
Infectious diseases
PK, PD, and PBPK modeling
Career development

We are excited to host renowned experts from industry and academia across the globe, who will share their insights through keynote speeches, presentations, and interactive sessions. This conference will also provide a platform for networking, fostering collaborations, and exchanging ideas that will drive the field forward.

We look forward to welcoming you to this dynamic and engaging workshop as we collectively explore Africa’s journey in pharmacogenomics and DMPK. Together, let us uncover new possibilities and contribute to advancing personalized medicine for the benefit of all.

Warm regards,

Rose Hayeshi and Julius O Enoru
